About Dealpromohub

We Are the People Who Cut the Boards

Dealpromohub has been building furniture and cabinetry on Bargara Road since 2008, and the workshop has grown at the pace of the work, not the pace of a franchise rollout. Four joiners, one designer, one workshop and a very short chain of command. When you ring us, you are talking to someone whose name is on the door.

Our Story

From a Rented Shed to a Wide Bay Fixture

Nathan Whitcombe started Dealpromohub after fifteen years of working for other people's joinery businesses. The plan was simple and slightly stubborn: build one thing at a time, do it properly, and refuse any job where the client could not afford the standard he wanted to sign his name to.

The first three years were a rented shed and a ute. Word moved through the region the old way — someone's sister had a table built, someone's neighbour had a kitchen fitted, and the phone eventually stopped being quiet. By 2014 we had bought the Bargara Road site and built a workshop big enough to stop outsourcing the carcasses.

We have never chased volume. We take a limited number of jobs each month so that every piece stays on one builder's bench from start to finish. That is the whole business model, and it is not going to change.

Timeline

How Dealpromohub Got Here

2008

The first bench

One shed, one sliding compound saw and a first commission: a spotted gum dining table that is still in service in a house in Kepnock.

2011

Kitchens added to the mix

We started fitting full kitchen joinery after too many clients asked us to build cabinets around a benchtop someone else had installed badly.

2014

Moved to Bargara Road

Bigger workshop, spray booth, proper dust extraction and room to stop outsourcing carcass builds to other trade shops.

2019

The four-joiner rule

We capped the team at four bench joiners. Beyond that, someone ends up supervising instead of building, and the quality drops.

2024

Passing on the trade

Started taking on a first-year apprentice each year, training them on hand-cut joinery before letting them near a benchtop saw.

Our Team

The People Behind Every Piece

No sales team, no offshore drafting office. Six people, one workshop and a shared dislike of shortcuts.

Nathan Whitcombe, founder and lead joiner

Nathan Whitcombe

Founder & Lead Joiner

Ashford-trained, twenty-nine years on the tools. Runs the hand-cut joinery for every dining table we build.

Ellen Rusk, designer and client coordinator

Ellen Rusk

Designer & Client Coordinator

Draws every commission, runs site measures and is the person who tells you honestly when an idea will not work in your room.

Marcus Delaney, cabinetmaker and fit-out install lead

Marcus Delaney

Cabinetmaker & Install Lead

Twelve years fitting kitchens. Coordinates the trades on-site and is the reason our install windows rarely blow out.

Tilly Bahr, apprentice joiner and finisher

Tilly Bahr

Apprentice Joiner & Finisher

Third-year apprentice, already running the hardwax oil finishing on most of our solid timber work.

What We Stand For

The Rules We Run the Workshop By

Say the Hard Thing

If a design is going to fail in a Queensland summer, we tell you before you pay. Losing a job beats carrying a bad one for ten years.

One Bench, One Builder

Nobody hands a half-finished piece to someone else. The person who starts your commission sees it through to the final oil rub.

Timber With a Name

We can tell you which mill cut the boards in your table. No anonymous imports with a species sticker stuck on after the fact.

Answer the Phone

We ring back the same day. If a client has a problem two years after install, we still pick up and still come out.

Philosophy

Furniture Should Outlive the Trend

Dealpromohub has never built to a season's palette. The spotted gum and blackbutt we work in will still look right in thirty years, and the joinery methods we use are the slow ones for a reason. A mortise and tenon joint hand-fitted by the person who cut it behaves differently from a dowelled butt joint glued and stapled in a factory, and you notice the difference about year five.

We would rather you commission one piece that becomes a family object than a truckload of flat-pack that gets left on a kerb in a move. It is not a snobbish thing, it is a practical one. Well-built furniture has a lower lifetime cost than anything replaced twice a decade.

Client Words

What People Say Behind Our Back

"Nathan told me a design I wanted would fail in our humidity before I signed anything. He was right. That honesty saved me two thousand dollars and a rebuild."

Bev Ashcroft
Custom furniture, Gin Gin

"Second kitchen we have had them do, first was in 2016 and still going strong. The quote was honest the second time too, which is rare in this trade."

Grant Petrie
Repeat client, Bundaberg North

"They kept the old table out of the weather while they matched the timber on a restoration job. Small thing, but it showed they actually cared about the piece."

Larissa Ngata

FAQ

Questions About Working With Us

The things clients ask before they sign anything. If yours is not here, ring the workshop during business hours.

The name is on the door and Nathan still works the bench most days. Six people on the payroll, two of them long-term staff who have been with the workshop over a decade. Not a franchise, not a chain.

Bundaberg, Bargara, Coral Cove, Kepnock, Gin Gin and the broader Wide Bay region are our regular patch. We have shipped pieces as far as Rockhampton and the Sunshine Coast when the job suited the workshop schedule.

Typically three kitchen fit-outs and twelve to fifteen furniture commissions. We cap it so the work stays on one builder's bench and does not become an assembly line.

Please do. We are on Bargara Road in Bundaberg East and drop-ins during business hours are welcome. Seeing the workshop, the tools and the stock on hand usually answers more questions than any brochure.

Either. If you bring drawings we will check them for buildability before quoting. If you bring a rough idea, Ellen draws it from the site measure and confirms proportions with you before cutting begins.
