We plan bench heights around the tallest person in the house, put drawers where you reach, not where a brochure says, and route every pantry and appliance so nothing becomes a dead corner. Gas, plumbing and electrical get coordinated by us directly with licensed trades, and the stone or laminate top is templated only after the carcasses are dead level on your floor.
